Days off
They're sometimes the only thing that keeps me going. I relish in them, take them all in and try and do a healthy mix of work and whimsy.
The best part of my weekend was my mother came to town to visit. We had delightful fun shopping together (doing damage at President's Day Sales) and then indulging in margaritas. We also went to a concert "women and their music" which of course rocked because women and music are both good.
We capped off the evening with chocolate fondue and wayy to much wine. Sometimes you just need to indulge your whimsy.
Tyler and I also discovered the HOM furniture store in Fargo. It may sound sad to you but it was a fun little outing for us. The HOM store sits on the I-94 interstate and it looks HUGE- like a warehouse. The inside is really fun with tons of beautiful furniture (we can fantasize that we could buy it) but we had fun because they have funky vases for $15 (down from 90) and a beautiful matted, framed painting for $8 -- so that was exciting. I may go back today after work and pretend I have money again.
I'm sort of obsessed with home decorating. Since we're in an apartment and can't paint the walls, I try and have lots of color in accessories but it's not the same. I guess I'm a nerd but I just love furniture stores and the way they set up little rooms etc. I was in Bismarck recently and had way too much fun in a downtown art gallery and blew a ton on some prints and funky art. I just love it. Happy birthday me.
Let's see-- what else is boring in my life that I can share? I cracked and finally upped my netflix deal. I figure 2 movies a month isn't going to work if I have 60+ movies on my queue. If any of you guys have netflix out there you should add me to see how compatible we are... lord I'm lame :)
Ugh, well it's sort of depressing talking about days off now it's Monday again... boo. It's really hard to get motivated to go into work when there's no official desk for me to work at-- and no internet connection. I need internet for my job so I end up staying home and doing a lot of stuff-- which ends up leading to facebook and blogging and sitting in my bathrobe and drinking a beer with lunch.
Whoopsie.
