The Adventure of the Unmentionables

At approximately 2 am Sunday morning I was at my boyfriend's apartment to watch War of the Worlds on Dvd. I ran into his room to grab some chapstick I had (my lips hurt real bad) when I found the above pair of undies or more specifically a Victoria's Secret "V-String"(according to the tag).

Important fact #1 The underwear is NOT MINE.

So I calmly and rationally asked my boyfriend why he had a pair of sexy girl's underwear. I'm not gonna lie there was a moment of concern. But it was explained to me that these are the hazards of doing laundry in a public facility.

I gave him a good hard stare down to see if I could detect any lying, but mostly he just looked embarrassed. As he said, "wow, i could have gotten a nice shirt, or an extra sock, but no... had to be sexy underwear."

All ended well, we took the unmentionables back to the laundry room and hung them on the door. Hopefully they'll find their way back to their owner who may or may not be brave enough to wear underwear that was out of her possession.

I told him, he gets this one free pass but if I find lipstick marks or numbers jotted down on bits of paper... I may have to hire that WB show "Cheaters" to come investigate.

At any rate, I may hide some silky boxers in my room next week... just to even the score

DONE!

This giraffe represents... nothing. I just think it's a nice picture. Hooray for giraffes!

I did it!!!!

I finished the semester!!

They tried to kill me... but I made it.

I celebrated by finally calling and making the dentist appointment I need... do I know how to treat myself or what?

It's still so fresh, I finished my last final less than an hour ago. I have to let the beauty of this sink in and then I might write some more.

I love the world. Merry Christmas!

Way too familiar

This past week has been so crazy that it's 4 am and I'm still up. I am THAT used to being up late that I can't sleep before 5 am... I was stumbling around online and found something that was so accurate of my week that I had to post ...this is especially good since I literally wrote over 10 papers in 2 days...

How to write a paper in college...

1. Sit in a straight, comfortable chair in a well lit place in front of your computer.

2. Log onto Instant Messenger Service (be sure to go on away!). Check your email.

3. Read over the assignment carefully, to make certain you understand it.

4. Walk down to the vending machines and buy some chocolate to help you concentrate.

5. Check your email.

6. Call up a friend and ask if he/she wants to go to grab a coffee. Just to get settled down and ready to work.

7. When you get back to your room, sit in a straight, comfortable chair in a clean, well lit place.

8. Read over the assignment again to make absolutely certain you understand it.

9. Check your email.

10. You know, you haven't written to that kid you met at camp since fourth grade. You'd better write that letter now and get it out of the way so you can concentrate.

11. Look at your teeth in the bathroom mirror.

12. Grab some mp3'a off your music service.

13. Check your email.

14. MSN chat with one of your friends about the future. (ie summer plans).

15. Check your email.

16. Listen to your new music and download some more.

17. Phone your friend on the other floor and ask if she's started writing yet. Exchange derogatory emarks about your prof, the course, the college, the world at large.

18. Walk to the store and buy a pack of gum. You've probably run out.

19. While you've got the gum you may as well buy a magazine and read it.

20. Check your email.

21. Check the newspaper listings to make sure you aren't missing something truly worthwhile on TV.

22. Play some solitare.

23. Check your friends blogs and of course Facebook.

24. Wash your hands.

25. Call up a friend to see how much they have done, probably haven't started either.

26. Look through your photo albums and start organizing picures you haven' organized yet.

27. Sit down and do some serious thinking about your plans for the future.

28. Check to see if anyone wrote on your facebook wall.

29. Check your email again and listen to more music.

30. You should be rebooting by now, assuming that windows is crashing on schedule.

31. Read over the assignment one more time, just for heck of it.

32. Scoot your chair across the room to the window and watch the sunrise.

33. Lie face down on the floor and moan.

34. Punch the wall and break something.

35. Check your email.

36. Mumble obscenities.

37. 5am - start hacking on the paper without stopping. 6am -paper is finished.

38. Complain to everyone that you didn't get any sleep because you had to write that stupid paper.

39. Go to class, hand in paper, and leave right away so you can take a nap.

Breaking free- One step at a time

At 12:15 today, I left my last class of the fall '05 semester!! *loud cheering*

It was modern grammar. Which I loathe... so it was a good feeling to walk out. Keep in mind, I still have my work cut out for me. A fact my modern grammar professor so kindly reminded me of, (he pointed at me and said, "YOU better study before the final!"---- "Thank you Captain Obvious, by the way are you related to Captain Jerk-wad?") I also have various papers and three final tests to take. Still I will never have to hear these people lecture again -- and for me, that is a small victory.

It means I'm one step closer to sticking my tongue out at school and taking winter break. Something I desperately need at the moment.

Not to be snobby, but I feel I have earned tonight off. So at the moment, I'm in my pajamas, blogging (duh) and watching my boyfriend put together his brand new TV. *more wild cheering*

PS: Technology has gotten so ridiculous these days. I'm watching Tyler surf through his new TV menu and with all the buttons and settings he's screwing with, it seems like he could have armed a nuclear bomb by now.

Anyhow, I plan on staying in pajamas, drinking fruit smoothies and watching rented movies (as soon as the damn TV works). I will shower if and only if we get off our butts to go to a party tonight. These are my goals. I am proud of them. Tomorrow I will tackle my religion paper... but that is tomorrow and today......

TODAY IS MINE!

Grand Forks girl takes it all the way

Holy crap. I went to high school with this chick. She just won America's Next Top Model!

That show is like... huge... in my life. I don't care if that makes me shallow or dumb, there is something about that show that captivates me. It's a lifestyle I know I'll never experience. Jet-setting from one beautiful city to another while people point cameras at me and shout "yes Emily gorgeous.. just like that!"

It's fun to get a glimpse into a foreign world and once you see how these girls want to model, you get excited for them. Especially when they're from your hometown and go to the same college as you.

I'm pumped that Nicole (GF gal) won. She's got it made! Her career is taken care of and I bet she never has to take another final. Not making a joke about models not being smart-- I'm just saying, would you rather be in L.A. taking crazy-fun pictures and partying or would you like to be sitting in my modern grammar class? If you had to think about that... you're not a fun person.

I think there's a tiny part of me that would love to model. Taking pictures in different costumes and crazy hair and makeup. I'm not up for being beautiful all the time though-- I mean, sure it comes easily to me and all but it looks exhausting! Today as I went to get the mail at my apartment, I tried to use the hallway as my runway. I've decided that "walking cool" is really frickin' hard.

At any rate...

Good for Grand Forks! Way to represent. It totally evens the score from all those times I see Miss North Dakota totally shut out of the Miss USA pageants. Some chick from the South with big hair always wins-- it's crap. Way to settle the score and put GF on the map. Makes me feel beautiful by association.
