Woe to you...

... if you ruin the Harry Potter book for me. And we're so close to the release date! I was reading perezhilton.com today (don't judge me!) and as I was scrolling down I saw the cover of "Deathly Hollows" and the title of "It's leaked!!!" I screamed and had to close the window right away. People are sneaky. You gotta be careful.

Life has been crazy since July started. Tyler had a good birthday. We had a minor hiccup on our way to the wine tasting. Apparently going 19 miles over the speed limit is frowned upon-- at least by Officer Rumple who pulled me over and cited me. Only $23 but still. That day shall forever be marked by Rumple's revenge. We tried all sorts of fun wine while at the winery. We enjoyed chokecherry but I was not a fan of the apple jalapeno. You heard right... jalapeno.

Next weekend I jumped in the car with Deanna and Erin and hightailed it out to Milwaukee- all of 9-some hours away to help Laura shop for her wedding dress. The only sad thing to report was that I was only 13 miles from Lake Geneva and I didn't get to go. I went years and years ago with my Aunt June and my mom and fell in love with it. I really like Wisconsin. Wouldn't be sad to end up there someday. It still feels midwest but it has lots of festivals, beautiful countryside and big cities.

This past week has been mostly about recovering from the Milwaukee trip (not a lot of sleep, too much beer and cheese) and trying to keep myself from showing Laura's dress to everyone (kidding Laura! I'm keeping my promise).

July is child abuse awareness month so that is supposed to be my topic of discussion at the juvie centers. Problem is all the videos I've found on the subject are hopelessly dated or else really hokey-- bad hair, music, acting. I don't want to do that to these kids. They're just starting to respect me. I gotta get a better plan.

In other news. Credit cards are evil. I don't understand why mine keeps going up. Probably because I keep using it. That needs to stop. Like, yesterday.

Tyler and I finally have food back in our fridge. It's really exciting to go home and have options for dinner. Sometimes we still feel lazy and want to order pizza but not nearly as much as before when it was mostly ketchup and water in our fridge. Thank you mother for coming into our lives and being free with your checkbook.

Speaking of mom , last weekend she celebrated her birthday with me. We saw Ratatouille (very cute) did some serious damage at the mall and just generally enjoyed each other's company.

Mostly this week is about working, getting ready to head back to the Cities for a wedding and trying to keep planning fun parties for Laura. I jokingly suggested skydiving as a bachelorette excursion-- what in the hell was I thinking?
