Missing my santiy

What the hell-- when did it become May?

I would love my comment field to be filled with updates from friends since I've been horrible and not been keeping in touch. May usually marks the end of the school year but since I'm really not in school anymore it's just another month-- and yet every adult in my life is asking me how finals are going. I thought nothing could be more annoying than the "what are you doing after graduation" question... but I was wrong. I should just shut up and be thankful that someone cares enough to ask.

Life keeps on trucking. I still struggle to be positive about my job at the Lobster. I like waitressing provided I get a nice table who likes to tip and then I can avoid nearly every other person I work with (because 50% of the people there are on the un-friendly side).

Today I had to go talk to high school freshman about healthy relationships--- 7 days before summer vacation-- so imagine how well that went. Remember that scene in Ferris Bueller's day off where the teacher, Ben Stein goes "Bueller, Bueller" it was sort of like that. Only me. Going, "So what types of things do we look for in our friendships?" SILENCE FOR 5 MINUTES until one little kid in the back goes.. "good video games?" OH the humanity. Longest three hours of my life. Freshman are evil.

On the "emily is crazy" side of the news. I decided to enter a contest (with just three hours to spare) called Public Radio Talent Quest. Anyone who knows me, knows that I desire nothing more than to one day have a show of my very own. I recorded one take of myself -- 2 minutes long. You can vote for me-- I'd appreciate it. It was after I submitted my sample that I realized I likely stand very little chance-- other people's entries really rock. Anywho. Here I am: Emily's page

More posting sooner rather than later. I leave you with this... a video of my life dramatically re-enacted by a tortoise and a cat.

Audience poll: Who should win American Idol? Blake, Melinda or Jordin?

Jordin!!!

She's hot, has a great voice, and has gotten better each week. Between all 3, it's moot because they'll all get ridiculous record deals. Good for them.

Hey, what are you doing after graduation?

I checked out your clip and voted for you, so you win in my book :)

In your life, are you a cat or a crazy turtle?

I really want Blake to win. I think he's cute and just has the style and individuality that appeals to me. Both of the girls are good too though, so they all deserve to win.

Hey I voted for you! (not in American idol, for the public radio thing)

I realized that I had never heard your voice before-- wow North Dakota dialect. :) Much love, glad to hear from you again....
